Hunting
Exmoor was a royal park and hunting has taken place on the moor for centuries.
There are at least seven hunts that still meet on Exmoor. The Devon and Somerset Stag Hounds that are based in Exford meet three time a week during the season to manage the deer's numbers, distribution and health of the herd. The hunt has also continued to provide a very efficient 24hrs casualty service to locate any sick and injured deer.
